Emergency Electrical Callout Following Water Leak – Dartford

We were called out to a property in Dartford following a water leak above the kitchen, which had caused the RCD to trip and left the customer without power.

During the initial phone call, we talked the customer through how to safely identify the affected circuit. This allowed them to isolate the lighting circuit and reset the RCD, restoring power to the remaining circuits before we arrived.

Once on site, we traced the fault to two kitchen light fittings directly below the leak. One fitting was removed and found to be full of water. This was disconnected and the cables safely terminated within a suitable enclosure. The second light was unaffected and left operational temporarily, meaning the customer still had lighting available in the kitchen.

Once the ceiling repairs and decorating have been completed, we’ll return to install two new light fittings and complete the job.
