We recently attended a rental property in Dartford to carry out remedial works following an Unsatisfactory Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).
As part of the remedial works we:
✅ Replaced two outdated RCDs with modern Type A RCDs, providing improved protection for today’s electrical equipment.
✅ Diagnosed an intermittent fault that had been causing the downstairs lighting circuit to trip.
After fault-finding, we discovered the issue was being caused by a failed LED lamp in the living room. Once the faulty lamp was removed and replaced, the lighting circuit operated normally and the nuisance tripping was eliminated.
Sometimes what appears to be a wiring fault can actually be caused by a failed accessory or lamp, highlighting the importance of proper fault finding rather than simply replacing parts.
